The IBM Communication Controller 3745 series is a high-performance
controller which offers a range of models featuring 4MB to 16 MB
storage per Central Control Unit (CCU), up to 8 parallel host
connections, 128 low and medium speed line attachments, 8 high speed
lines attachments to T1 like (1.544M bps) and CEPT like (2.048M bps)
channels, 16 attachments to Ethernet Version 2 or IEEE 803.2 Local
Area Networks (LAN), 8 IBM Token-Ring attachments operating at 4M
bps or 16M bps, and provides interfaces for local, alternate and
remote consoles, and for the Remote Support Facility.
The 3745 Models 210, 310, 410 and 610 are compatible with the 3746
Models Axx/Lxx Expansion Units offering modular growth for up to 16
parallel host connections, and 896 line attachments with optional
modem integration for up to 416 of them.
The 3745 Models 17A, 21A, 31A, 41A and 61A (Models xxA series)
support the 3746 Expansion Unit Model 900, to offer the full
additional capacity and functionality of this unit, mainly native
ESCON channel adapters, price-attractive communication line
adapters, and high-performance token-ring adapters.
The 3745 Models xxA, in combination with the 3746 Model 900, provide
customers with a series of powerful enterprise communication
servers.
The 3745 Models xxA are also compatible with the 3746 Models Axx/Lxx.
